Description

This was the gown I made for the 2005 MIRF season. Everything is cotton. If you wear polyester in the August heat you will keel over. The bodice and skirt are made from about 8 yds of olive green brocade. The sleeves are forepart are made from about 3 yards of tan and burgundy diamond brocade. I have no idea how many pearls are on the forepart, probably between 50-100. The trim is a mixture of jaquard ribbon and gimp. I didn't make the hat, it is a black velveteen Elizabethan Tall Hat from [link]. Her hats rock and it is still doing great after three seasons of hard wear.

That is about it for this dress. It might be tweaked for next season, but as is it was the finished product.

This is such a beautiful gown =) The ladies of my court are planning to teach me to sew since our guild makes a lot of its own costumes. Any tips for a greenhorn? ^^
